Holistic First Aid – set up & education

Learning to care for our own, is such an essential need; and the WAY we proceed is equally important.  For it’s not just about taking care of someone (doing it for them); it’s about empowering them into their own healing.  Without learning the causes and solutions for ourselves, we are invariably going to meet that same problem again and again, in different trajectories.

Join me, Raine E, Ford of Mountain Woman Medicine, on this 3 day, information-intensive journey. Through deep discussions and hands-on opportunities, we will learn some of the many methods to use plants as medicine for common discomforts and emergencies, while supporting all levels of wellbeing.

I bring a weaving between traditional and modern modes, between holistic and medical models, and between emergency and sustainability. Exquisite Self-Care is the goal, while pausing to pursue at least three aspects to every challenge – Person, Plant, and Problem.

Goals of the Class:
Discussing roughly 45 First Aid Plants, Distinguishing/Diagnosing common Ailments, choosing the right plant for the issue. With a focus on Nervous System Support, (Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma) Respiratory, and GI Tract.

You can expect:
That we will cover about 6 hours of class material each day and that we will do our best to stay on time and on topic while making room for different modalities of learning. This will be a mix of notes, lectures, demonstration, hands on skill building & scenarios.

[Generally speaking, we will not be going in-depth on the Medicine Making aspect, as that is its own deep science and course.  If there is expressed interesst and we set aside time outside of class, we may have a quick ‘tincture making and herbal mathematics in the apothecary’ segment.
It would likely be a weekend where we already have class and it would be a Friday evening or a Saturday morning mini-delve.]

FAQ

Can I take the course in parts or switch to online at a point?

This is a course you can take in section if needed. (Meaning you could simply choose to come to only 1 day because those are the topics you want or have the time to delve into.) If you are interested in the Certificate of Completion component then you’d need to take all the sections and present yourself for the practicum aspect. (That could be at the course On-Mtn or at an event that we mutually attend)

What are the community components?

Shared experiences, stories, meals, ongoing connection in the Nemeton Server, an opportunity to be invited to aspects of Nemeton Wellness Collective.

This is also a point of entry for Herbal Pathprenticeships with Raine On-Mtn and/or at Events. Please inquire if you are interested.  (There is an interview process.)
